The LIFT is a Youth Art Festival celebrated in Ballymun. This year we celebrate it for a week, from Wednesday 24th March til Tuesday 30th March.The LIFT is abouts a youth art creation. The Festival is about exhibitions, performances, concerts, workshops, etc. It is a dynamic Festival where the young people are the main actors and the whole community can join it. All the Festival was developed in The Axis.
Examples of the arts creations that we could find in the LIFT were original hats, boxes with a significant scene, molly dolls.Although the daily activity in The Reco carried on during that week, we took part of the LIFT and we went with some groups to vsit, participate and join the Festival.
In my case, I could go with the Animation Group, during one afternoon, to the innauguration of The LIFT. There, we enjoyed a nice and emotive innauguration speech, a really nice parade with models who wore the hats, and we visited the art boxes.
Tha Boxes were small wood boxes were the young people created inside a significant image or scene for them. It was intersting to see what they created.
The Festival run during the whole week and lots of young people could enjoy and take part of it.
